When it comes to choosing a veterinary practice you want a team of professionals who are dedicated to the service you and your pet receive. You want to know that your pet will be given the most up to date treatment using modern advanced technology. Most importantly, you want vets and nurses who are passionate about animals. At Towerwood Vets we can offer you all of these things and more. We offer a long list of conventional treatments at Towerwood Vets, from basic preventative healthcare such as routine flea and worming treatment, through to more specialised behavioural therapy. No matter what your pet’s condition, they’re in the very best hands with us.

“Being a holistic veterinary practice is something we take very seriously at Towerwood Vets. As well as allowing us the time we need to treat the animals we see, we are also able to offer a wide range of complementary therapies to help treat our patients more naturally.”

Important information about our practice during the current Covid-19 situation in the UK (23rd March 2020)

The ongoing situation with Covid-19 is impacting all of us and in this time of uncertainty we wanted to reassure you that providing care for our patients and clients remains our top priority, however we also need to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our practice team more than ever at this time.

As of the UK government’s announcement on Sunday 22nd March regarding a partial UK lockdown situation, our clinics are currently NOT open for ‘BUSINESS AS USUAL’, but as vet practices are not on the list of businesses that have been requested to close we remain open to continue to provide emergency and urgent care for your pets. Our practice team are following strict guidelines on social distancing, use of personal protective equipment and we are currently operating a ‘closed-door’ policy at both of our practices.

For the forseeable future, which may be more than 3 weeks, we are unable to provide routine treatment at this time – so long as this does not compromise the health and welfare of our companions. Where there is a welfare concern, we can provide advice over the phone or video consultations, which will be chargeable at our usual rate. Where possible, and only where our veterinary surgeons can justify it, we can prescribe medications – although this MUST BE BY VIDEO CONSULTATION ONLY. Please contact our team on 0113 267 8419 (Cookridge) or 01274 610627 (Greengates) to organise a video consultation, which will be by our preferred platform Zoom.

IF YOUR PET IS UNWELL OR REQUIRES EMERGENCY TREATMENT PLEASE ENSURE YOU CONTACT OUR TEAM FIRST BEFORE HEADING DOWN TO EITHER OF OUR CLINICS. SOME OF OUR NURSES ARE WORKING FROM HOME ANSWERING CALLS TO SUPPORT THOSE BASED IN PRACTICE, SO PLEASE UTILISE OUR TEAM AT THIS TIME WHO REMAIN WORKING AT SAFE DISTANCES TO HELP YOU.

You can then collect your prescription from us, or we are currently offering free of charge delivery of medications and/or pet food ONLY IF YOU ARE SELF ISOLATING OR ARE UNDER THE SHIELDING INITIATIVE AS ADVISED BY THE UK GOVERNMENT.

We have many clients who come to collect their pets weekly food supply from us, for this we also remain open. However you MUST contact the surgery first to ensure that your order is ready to collect at an allocated time and you must remain outside or in your car at all times. ONLY ONE PERSON SHOULD ATTEND THE PRACTICE FOR THIS PURPOSE. Please call us and we can take payment over the phone by card and ensure your order is prepared and ready for collection from our premises observing strict social distancing rules.

This is all a very strange and brand new way of working for our team so please be patient, we are working out ways to ensure that we comply with government social distancing rules as well as trying to make sure we remain a calling point for any concerns you may have about your pet. Remember we are still ALWAYS on the end of the phone if you need to speak to any of us for advice and sometimes we can help ease your mind without having to see your pet at all. Remember that we are a business too, and we need to survive this economic uncertainty to retain our practice team as it stands today, so we will always try to find ways of helping where we can at this time, our wider community is so important to us.

Please stay home, protect the NHS and save lives.
