Out of Hours Policy

This Christmas 2016 we want your pet to be safe, and for you to be prepared if you have any emergencies over the festive period.

On the dates marked as ‘Closed’, our team will be enjoying a well earned break.

On Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, our team will be on call and working at the clinic between 9am – 4pm, and at this time calls will come through to a member of our team at Cookridge. Our Greengates clinic will be open as usual between 9am-12noon and all calls to our Greengates clinic from 12 noon will be taken by our emergency team at Cookridge until 4pm. Please note that outside the hours of 9am-4pm calls may be taken by Leeds Emergency Vets.

On the days that emergency clinics are present, Boxing Day, Tuesday 27th and Monday 2nd January, our team will be on call and manning the practice AT COOKRIDGE ONLY as per our usual Sunday opening hours which will be 10am – 6pm. We will have an emergencies only clinic from our Cookridge clinic between 10am-12noon. Please note that calls outside of the hours of 9am-6pm may be taken by Leeds Emergency Vets.

The team wish all of our clients a very Happy Christmas and New Year, and we look forward to conniving to care for your treasured pets throughout 2017.

Out of Hours Policy

Our practice is open to support you and your pet 7 days a week. Our general opening times are 8am-7pm weekdays, Saturday 9am-12noon and 3pm-6pm, Sunday 10am-12noon. We provide an out of hours emergency service from our Cookridge clinic 7 days a week too, up to 10pm on weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays until 6pm.

We want to ensure your pet has the best of care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a small practice in a modern world it’s essential that our vets and nurses are always there to help, but we have our limitations as a small team and it’s vital that we ensure our team have a good quality of home, as well as work, life.

Between the hours of 10pm-8am on weekdays, and 6pm-9am on weekends our emergency phone calls are taken by our emergency services provider in Morley, Leeds Emergency Vets. If your pet needs to be seen in an emergency they have a dedicated night vet and nurse who will see your pet straight away if you need help. They are also able to provide emergency advice over the telephone, and you may be able to see your pet through to the next morning with their advice and then come to see us the following day.

To speak to them out of our normal hours, dial our usual telephone number 0113 267 8419 or 01274 610627, press 9 when prompted and you will be diverted to them. Please be sure to have any details of your pets current condition and any medication they may be taking handy.

Our promise to you!

If a pet in need is admitted to our clinic at Cookridge, or admitted and transported over from our Greengates branch, then your pet will be looked after by our own team. We will NEVER transport any patient admitted and treated by us to our emergency provider. Our team will look after your pet on the premises, checking or even staying with your pet overnight whilst they have treatment.

If your pet is seen by our emergency provider, and is admitted overnight, and you would like our team to continue your pets care the following day, then providing your pet can travel we will organise for your pet to transfer to our Cookridge clinic the following day.
