When it comes to the health of your feline you want to know that their experience at the vets is going to be as stress free as possible don’t you? Wouldn’t it be great if you could find a veterinary practice that not only takes a strong interest in cat care, but also meets all the standards required by the International Society for Feline Medicine?

That’s exactly what you can expect from us at Towerwood Vets.

In 2013 our practice obtained a Gold Award from the International Society for Feline Medicine for our dedication to caring for cats. In order to be granted this prestigious award we have had to ensure that our clinic meets a number of standards including:

  • Our premises must always be of a good clinical standard with access to appropriate equipment to diagnose feline diseases
  • Our staff are fully trained to have a gentle, caring and empathetic approach towards handling cats
  • We have staff who are knowledgeable and have lots of experience working with cats and their specific characteristics
  • We have a ‘Cat Advocate’ who can answer any questions you may have regarding feline illnesses and behaviour
  • We have a cat friendly waiting room with a separate area specifically for cats and additional features such as raised space to rest your cat’s carrier
  • We have a dedicated hospital ward for cats away from our dog ward
  • For felines that may need to spend longer periods of time with us we have dedicated larger kennels available

You know better than anyone that cats are unique and can be challenging in their own individual ways. For that reason we have a separate waiting room with lots of space so that your feline can wait to see their vet in peace, away from noisy dogs.

cat-friendlyYou can rest assured that your four legged friend will only ever be cared for in a gentle and caring manner by an experience veterinary professional. We will do everything we can to get to the bottom of any illness or ailment your pet may be suffering, so that you can go home with them and continue to give them the best care possible.

Cats don’t like being away from their own territory which can make staying at the vets a stressful time for them. However, should your cat ever need to stay with us we have a separate ward where they’ll receive plenty of TLC from nurses who have been trained to use calming and soothing techniques.

If you would ever like to know more about our status as a cat friendly practice, please don’t hesitate to pop in and speak to a member of our team. We also have a great brochure that you’re more than welcome to take away with you.
