We are a growing and vibrant business who are proud to be independent in the North of Leeds. Our exciting growth has presented us with the need for a new veterinary surgeon to help share the workload. You will need to be a good communicator within the team and to our clients, understanding and mindful of the clients needs first and foremost in order to provide the best care and service to our patients. You will be a good consulting and surgical vet, and as a senior member of the general practice team potentially be a mentor to junior vets and encourage clinical communication between the team. You will help to develop the team to enable further branch growth, as some branch work at our Greengates clinic may be required as we build this clinic.
We recognise the importance of good communications with a consistent thread between our clinical team and our clients for the benefit of their pets. We encourage a good sense approach to quality of life, taking on board both the needs of the client and the care of the pet, as well as the health and welfare of our team.
We offer a wide range of treatment modalities, always keeping our minds open and questioning as to how we can help our clients and their pets even more. We are committed to the ongoing training of our team, and we hold in house CPD regularly to update on current treatments and practices. We also encourage 10 days per annum allocated to CPD to further your own personal development in areas that interest you.
We hold the ISFM Feline Clinic Gold Standard Award and our head nurse holds the ISFM CERT FN (Hons) and a second nurse is completing the same certificate.
CPD is encouraged and funded for appropriate certificate level development, and special interests with further qualifications are also preferred. Salary commensurate with experience and we can offer relocation assistance.

At Towerwood we want to help you to develop and currently have a position suitable for a new graduate, or a veterinary surgeon wishing to develop early skills in general practice. We are offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work in our branches as a primary care veterinary surgeon to help you develop your practical skills, in both consulting and general surgery.
We are a busy practice with a full workload and need a colleague to come and help our general practice team. We have an emphasis on client communication to ensure the best pet healthcare service is provided to our loyal clients, and also on team health. We have a friendly team of qualified and training nurses to support our vets, and being a training practice for nurses understand the support required in a busy practice environment so we also aim to ensure we take good care of our team as well as our patients.
CPD is encouraged and funded, and we often hold clinical CPD meetings at least monthly. We expect the right candidate to be enthusiastic about honing their skills as a general practitioner, and further special interest qualifications and certificates are encouraged and funded.
The position would be initially to work within our main site at Cookridge, where there is always another clinician available for support. Enthusiasm and a willingness to help both our branches to continue to grow, and to be an integral and professional part of a vibrant practice team, is desired. Good communication skills are essential, and a team player outlook as all of our staff members play an integral part in looking after our clients and their pets.
Relocation assistance is possible.

We are a growing veterinary practice and over the last year have had call to employ several new members to the team. This is the first opportunity we’ve had for a qualified veterinary nurse as we now need to expand our clinical nursing team. We love to meet passionate professionals who are always open to new ideas, treatment modalities and keep their minds open to what is possible without prejudgment of what our client’s needs and wants are.
We love people who like to connect with clients and the community around them, and who want to be part of a growing practice enthusiastic about getting our message and ethos out there.
What’s more we love people who love pets, and love to look after their healthcare and wellbeing!
Although this is not a position for just any qualified veterinary nurse, it’s a position for a nurse with a passion for doing things that little bit differently. We have a holistic ethos that runs through our practice and our team are encouraged to adopt new ways of thinking how we communicate and support our clients and their pets. This approach helps us to be open to new ideas and new thinking from anyone within our team about how we care for clients, how we do our day to day jobs, all with ultimate respect for the pet-client bond and with their best interests at the very heart of everything we do.
We run very busy nursing clinics, and have K-Laser therapy that our nurses use on a daily basis for pets in need of treatment – a satisfying aspect of our nursing clinics allowing nurses to take charge of cases and see them through with the support of our veterinary team. We also run very successful puppy parties to support our newest arrivals, and youth club parties, and are always looking for new and innovative ways to support and maintain client relationships.
Take a look at our video above about what our nurses and vets say about working here.
The nitty gritty:
We are looking for a nurse who would like to be based at our up and coming Greengates clinic, although some work at our Cookridge surgery will be required in order familiarise you with the main site and allow for better integration into the team. This will include some Saturday and Sunday nurse clinic work that only our qualified nurses can do.
Salary is negotiable dependant up experience and in line with our nursing salary scales. Base salary reviews occur regularly, with a proportionate increase based on performance and contributions to improving our client and team experience.
CPD is encouraged and funded, and we love it when we are able to help nurses through more in-depth courses. Talk to us about what direction you want your career in veterinary nursing to go.
